Dr. M.A. Clinic/Rosewood

With careful curation, we created objects, sculptures, assemblages, and books to fill the shelves and spaces of Dr. Marcelo Araújo's clinic, located in the Mata Atlântica Tower, next to the Rosewood Hotel Spa, in Cidade Matarazzo. The goal was to convey elegance, diversity, study, memory, and science.

For the large main bookcase in the reception room, its 50 large niches were completely filled. We used almost 400 books, both antique and secular, selected for their scientific, historical, and philosophical content, with handmade green leather bindings. Of these, about 110 books were specially created in large formats, some transformed into boxes with internal assemblages representing elements of nature (water, fire, stone, air) and parts of the human body, all with titles in Latin, in addition to others with botanical watercolors created especially for the project. In addition to the books, approximately 160 objects related to science and study were included, such as antique microscopes, laboratory glassware, botanical reproductions, crystals, minerals, lenses, antique laboratory and science teaching artifacts, and original engravings within these themes. Also part of this collection is a selection of porcelain figurines from brands such as Sèvres, Rosenthal, and Lladró, representing female figures and bringing lightness and elegance to the installation.

For the bookshelf in the clinic's private room, we created a collection of botanical reproductions, highlighting mushrooms on natural clay bases, which are related to large glass domes with small silver sculptures representing plant sprouts, as well as books with green leather bindings, following the same concept as the main bookshelf, also with original watercolors.

On the Juice Bar bookshelf, we used laboratory glass filled with special sand, adding delicate light wood sticks, minerals, pearls, and miniature flora, creating micro landscapes and deserts, which dialogue with solid wood sculptures, designed especially for the space, hand-carved with rectangular shapes and organic carvings, symbolizing the transformation of nature by human action.

In Dr. Marcelo Araújo's office, the ensemble created expresses lightness, memory, and purity, with small paintings on canvas created especially for the room's bookshelf, representing fragments of places and memories from Dr. Marcelo's professional career, accompanied on the back of each painting by photos that inspired each canvas and explanatory phrases. Oriental marble vases with reproductions of plant sprouts were also placed, symbolizing rebirth and life, which dialogue with Murano crystal spirals, representing movement and continuity. Finally, we created books with natural linen binding and blank pages, symbolizing the future and the history to be written.

For other spaces in the clinic, we created sculptures such as a bronze-cast root with an antique French ornament representing a leaf, as well as a botanical reproduction of a branch of plants supported by hand-turned wood. Both sculptures interact with the elements created for the space, reinforcing the connection with nature and art.

This project integrates art, science, memory, and nature, creating a sophisticated and meaningful environment for Dr. Marcelo Araújo's clinic, consistent with the architecture and sophistication of the Rosewood Hotel and Cidade Matarazzo.
